grooms cake

Thankfully the 'groom cake' thing hadn't reached the UK yet (or at least I haven't seen it yet) and we all get to gave the same cake together!

I would be all for having this cake as the wedding cake...although the roles would have to be switched.

Grooms cake seems to be a thing mostly in the southern United States. The wedding cake is more traditional and "fancy" while the grooms cake is often themed or joke-ish. Usually it's there either as extra cake if the wedding cake may not be enough, or else if maybe they wanted another flavor option for guests or something.
