In a thrilling announcement that is set to delight fans, the team behind World of Warcraft has disclosed the date when players can anticipate the next major update to the Classic Wrath of the Lich King. The beloved patch, complete with a new dungeon, raid, and daily quests, is primed to make its grand entrance to World of Warcraft Classic in the near future.
A Walk Down Memory Lane
The upcoming update heralds the return of "Call of the Crusade," the second major patch in Wrath of the Lich King. This period in World of Warcraft history was uniquely significant, as it saw players don their lances and tabards to champion their faction in a contest designed to prepare the heroes of Azeroth for a face-off against the forces of the Lich King.
A Revival with A Bang
Beginning June 20, players will have the opportunity to step into the "Trial of the Champion" dungeon, partake in the Argent Tournament daily quests, and earn valuable rewards. An alternative route presents itself in the form of dungeons with Defense Protocol Beta—a new kind of Titan Rune Dungeon offering gear from the Ulduar raid in World of Warcraft. A couple of days later, on June 22, the "Trial of the Crusader" and "Grand Crusader" raids will be open in both their 10- and 25-man versions, alongside the level 80 version of Onyxia’s Lair.
Adding to the excitement, World of Warcraft is reintroducing the Joyous Journeys experience buff to Wrath of the Lich King Classic. As of May 23, players will accrue experience 50% faster in World of Warcraft Classic, making it considerably easier to level characters up to match the current content. This experience boost is expected to last for an entire month, likely concluding when the Call of the Crusade patch is launched.
A Classic Experience
The Trial of the Crusader is fondly remembered for its unique structure, mechanics, and encounters. Although it is often overshadowed by other Wrath of the Lich King battles, such as the legendary Icecrown Citadel or the iconic Ulduar raid, players are eagerly awaiting the chance to challenge this unique instance once again. In fact, one of the most exhilarating aspects of the Call of the Crusade update is that the Fall of the Lich King is just a few months away.
World of Warcraft Classic also recently announced the imminent arrival of official Hardcore realms, with another Classic Era season soon to follow. In Retail WoW, Blizzard is diligently working on Patch 10.1.5. This forthcoming content update, known as Dragonflight, will introduce some captivating features to the game, including a time-bending mega-dungeon. Therefore, regardless of their preferred era, World of Warcraft players will soon have an abundance of activities to keep them engaged.
With the return of the fan-favorite update, Call of the Crusade, and the plethora of new content being introduced, World of Warcraft continues to provide its players with a rich and dynamic online gaming experience. World of Warcraft is currently available for play on PC.
